HOW IT STARTED
BUILT FROM EXPERIENCE.
Jay started building sets and stage managing as a teenager. From then, over a decade in theatre and opera developed his skills in CAD, technical drawing, set design and 3D rendering, alongside hands-on work in carpentry, steelwork, sculpting and scenic art.
Jay went on to work at some of the leading set and event production houses in the UK managing and directing teams in design and build.
That mix of design and workshop experience led to a solo career in technical and fabrication direction across live music, broadcast, events and installations.

At DOBI, Jay brings that experience to every stage, from design and engineering to fabrication and installation. He understands how each decision affects the next, and what the finished set needs to do.
He works directly with clients and the workshop team throughout, keeping creative ideas grounded in practical delivery.
